My Name is Johnathan Reiner. I am a doctor by profession
and live in London with my redhead lady.
Ever since I was a kid my hand would fidget at the sight of a pen.
My school notebooks would fill up quickly with random scribbles,
my hand vandalizing my homework,
leaving me speechless in front of my teachers.
These compulsions were often unconcious.
The creations frequently bad.
Nevertheless,
these ‘insignificant works of my left hand’
amounted to a big collection of lines, shapes and forms
of my wandering mind - AKA: Doodles
(‘ A rough Drawing made absentmindedly ‘ – Oxford American Dictionary).
These doodles should not be submitted to judgement
by their quality, subject matter or time spent on making them.
They are merely a creative release -
a quirky tick – of my thoughts, emotions and imagination.
you might say i come from a family of doodlers:
My mother doodles lines obsessively.
My father – stickmen in suits.
I know of a few who are obssessed
with signatures, smiley faces or cats.
I’ve wandered through abstract to rabbits and ducks and
spent a few years exploring the visual wonders of the number ’2′.
I hope you enjoy this collection I present to you,
a squiggler’s diary, untouched, unpolished, uncensored.
